"I" of the Tiger
Look, I know a cheerleader carrying a crooked flag is a non-issue to LSU's football season. But, here's where it becomes somewhat relevant. By comparison, the crooked "I" flag and our tumultuous season are very similar. Both seen to have lack-luster efforts combined with an inability to improve week to week. All parties involved continue to make the same mistakes, instead of going back to the basics and doing things the right way. Thought the "I" cheerleader did ok at the Georgia game - well, that's b/c it wasn't the same person. He was back at the Tulane game, with a vengeance...and this time, I have proof - see photos for examples of both crooked (top) and slow (bottom - the "T" flag is already on the ground "T.......IGERS")!

Defense
Sure you only gave up 3 pts to the Tulane offense, but I guarantee, that the late substitutions, blown coverages and costly pass interference penalties will surely come back and haunt us on Saturday. I beg you to play smart, assignment football, and just see what happens!
Whoa is the O... still
Not the first time the season I've used the "Whoa is the O" heading this season, but if the shoe fits... Penalties, bad snaps poor play calls - and that was just one one series. Sheesh. You never know who is going to show up. Scott had a great game, and Lee played steady...until...well, I'll talk about that next. I hope Coach Crowton is spending some late nights crafting an effective game plan for Saturday. I really think we're due for a smooth offensive game for once.
Pick 6...Yet Again
This has got to be some kind of record, right? The game was not pretty up to the point of the pick 6, but I certainly didn't think this would be the team that would continue the streak. Question: Does the defense keep running back the INT b/c our offensive players don't try to stop them, OR is Lee throwing these short passes right to the defenders, in stride no less, with no offensive players around? You be the judge, I don't care either way, but this has got to stop.
Booooooo...
So, I'm obviously not happy with Lee's continued charitable giving to the opposition, but when he took the field after the pick 6 I did not participate in the chorus of boos that rang out throughout the stadium (or what was left of it). I really felt bad for the kid getting booed by the home crowd like that. Come on LSU fans, let's try giving the kid some support and cheering him on - who am I kidding...this is SEC football at LSU and we are not that tolerable!
Cheers
Almost as bad as the booing was the wild cheering that went up when Jordan Jefferson took the field on LSU's last possession. It was like the savior stepped on the field and Beatle-mania erupted. This kid has played, what 6 plays all year, with one incomplete pass? I'm all about giving him a shot, and I hope that one of our QBs can step up and play savior, but calling for the true-freshman might be just as unbearable. But hey, I say give the kid a shot - it really can't get any worse!
Florida
What a whoopin'! I wish I could have watched more of the game. It seemed that every time I walked to a different tailgate and checked the score, the Gators had scored AGAIN! Talk about leaving with your tail b/t your legs UGA. Kudos to Florida for taking Georgia's celebration from last year and really using it against them. An eye for an eye...nah, how about turn the other cheek and score on them at will. Nothing says payback like running up the score. Mission accomplished.
Texas Tech
Snap. The Red Raiders took it to the former #1 team. The throw and catch to score the winning TD was impressive, not to mention the other 59 minutes of the game. I wish I could have watched more, instead of being bored to death in Death Valley, but I support my team, and wish TT well. That offense is impressive and with a little bit of defense and a splash of a running game (which they have) they will be dangerous. I know our DBs couldn't stop it...
#1
So, "the team that must not be named" heads in to BR as #1 - who would have thunk it? Like we needed more drama added to this game. Well, if LSU decides to play SEC football and beats "that team" this weekend, we might as well take down #1.
Game Day
Speaking of more drama...The boys from Game Day are headed back to BR. Here's hoping our fans act as good hosts, b/c we know that sometimes the "good" gets lost in fifths of Crown. Good luck finding somewhere to park after 8 am.
Bye Bye Fulmer
Tennessee gives Phillip Fulmer a big fat contract to start the season, then after eight games, he's on his way out. Surprised? You shouldn't be if you've watched them play this season - just ugly. He hasn't had a big name QB in a while, which pretty much sealed his fate. Whose next? My guess is ol' Tommy Tuberville at AU. Good riddance.
I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'
Maybe our co-defensive coordinators will leave to take a co-head coaching job at Tennessee - hey, a girl can hope!
